World Trade Center Transportation Hub
Commissioning Authority for Sustainable Design

The World Trade Center Transportation Hub will be home to the Port Authority Trans-
Hudson (PATH) train system, connecting 13 subway lines via the Fulton Street Transit Center and linking pedestrians to the World Financial Center and its ferries through an underground concourse. Comparable in size to Grand Central Station, the new hub will serve more than 200,000 daily commuters, along with millions of annual visitors to the World Trade Center and the Memorial.

The Ferreira Group assisted the owner in developing the Basis of Design, Owners Project Requirements (OPR) for the Sustainable Design Guidelines (SDG) written to ensure the energy intensive systems in the facility would perform optimally for both enhanced comfort and minimize carbon footprint. The commissioning (Cx) specification for new building design was written by The Ferreira Group. Reviews were performed on the 50% and 90% design drawings and pre-functional checklists have been developed. Future work will include final design review, developing the Functional Performance checklists reviewing submittals and performing Field Commissioning services.

Check back for future updates on this project.
