New Jersey School Development Authority - School O&M Program in accordance with a collaborative effort between The New Jersey Institute of Technology School of Architecture and the New Jersey School Development Authority, The Ferreira Group, Inc. proposed to measurably enhance the operation of Newark Science Park High School through a systematic approach to energy use and cost reduction, improved environmental impact and comfort thus ensuring the resultant to be a high performance building.
The Ferreira Group’s focus of this project is to combine service and technology development in an effort to visually prove in real time the positive financial and environmental impact of operational efficiencies on a building.
Newark Science Park High School received the Energy Star
label and the Energy Star score is tracked using the Noveda™ system. A comprehensive energy assessment of the facility was completed and a recommendation to reduce the cost and consumption of fuel, water and power was made. Identification of capital improvements with high returns on investment and a multi-year plan for implementation inclusive of state and federal incentives was expedited by The Ferreira Group. The savings associated with these projects will be tracked and monitored using the Noveda™
system in order to prove the pro forma on the projects.
Optimization of SunFlow™, EnergyFlow™ and FaciliMetrix™ to monitor and prove savings to the system resulting from high performance building
development along with the ongoing monitoring of the efforts to achieve the savings shall be performed and reported on
by The Ferreira Group to ensure the measures remain intact; the Energy Star
score is continually monitored. |
